We held our first clinic of Working Equitation for foreign riders in November 2008, delivered by our trainer Benedito Torres de Macedo (Dito). The group of more than 10 Canadians guided by Glenn Stuart, “natural Horsemanship” trainer, was completely amazed by the theory and practice of this sport, which is becoming quite popular in Europe, Mexico and Brazil. The Canadians fell in love with the Lusitano horses after an intensive one week experience during their stay at the ranch. They also enjoyed the excellent food and hospitality offered by Haras das Mangueiras, as well as the opportunity of spending an afternoon shopping at the local market. Further clinics are being organized, the next one already settled to happen in March 2009.
